Waiters/Waitresses
(for graduates from Upper Secondary Schools)
This
is a specialisation course for you who want to develop your professional
skills within the restaurant service.
It is designed to give the student a vocationally effective knowledge
for the future career.
The programme of studies includes both training and theoretic studies.
The
student gets his work experience from the School's training restaurant
Hjorten as well as from different restaurants in Mariehamn and
onboard cruise-liners.
Further
education
Graduates from the service programme can apply for a bartender's course,
20 credit units, wine waiter/sommelier course, 20 credit units.
You can also apply for the hotel and restaurant programme of 160 credit
units at the Åland Polytechnic.
Entry
requirements
Completed
upper secondary school programme. Work experience as a waiter is considered
an additional qualification. Time of studies, 40 credit units.
