Hotel
and conference staff
(for graduates from Upper Secondary Schools)
The
front office personnel are most important for the service of the
hotel and for its customers.
This course is designed to give the student a vocationally effective
knowledge for the work concerning hotels, conference centres, course
centres, cruise-liners and several service related establishments.
The programme of studies includes both training and theoretic studies.
The student gets his work experience at the hotels in Mariehamn, and
on cruise-liners.
As a receptionist/conference hostess the student will help when planning,
organising, and quoting the conferences.
Further
education
Graduates from the hotel and conference staff programme can apply for
the hotel and restaurant programme of 160 credit units at the Åland
Polytechnic.
Entry
requirements
Completed upper secondary school programme. Work experience as a waiter
is considered an additional qualification. Time of studies, 40 credit
units.
